How did I make my first YouTube video?

Hi, how are you? Are you bored? Happy? Curious?

I wonder how people feel when they click on my blogs, how do you think you’ll feel when you leave?

I hope you feel inspired because the last few weeks have been challenging in the best way, and this is why…

Hi 👋 my name is Laura Mai and I’m a marketing consultant looking to make ethical marketing easy. I’m currently doing Alex Hormozi’s 100 day content challenge.

Every day (except Sunday per my religion) I will be doing this challenge and sharing the good, the embarrassing and the enlightening.

Do you think you could do a challenge like this? I didn’t at first, but this challenge has increased my self worth, my discipline and shut up the little voice inside my head that wonders “what if people judge me?”

Do you have that voice? It’s normal if you do, but I’ll tell you a secret. That voice shuts up when you’re too busy to hear it.

Ok enough with the TED Talk, let’s get into it and if you’re not already, make sure you sign up for my email list so you don’t miss a post!

Day twenty seven:

Guess who finally posted a YouTube video…?

I’ll give you a hint, IT WAS ME!

The editing is average at best and I look uncomfortable, but I did it.

To make the video I used Cinematic mode on my iPhone and edited using Canva for the question slides and CapCut for the whole video (including music).

The inspiration I used was a video idea from a yearly interview of Billie Eilish with Vogue which I'll put below.

Ok who's video was better?

Lie to me 😂

I’ve been avoiding making a YouTube video for 27 days, but after a call yesterday with another social media manager, Chloe, I made the commitment to post a video every day for the next week (except Sunday obviously).

Have you ever felt proud of yourself just for doing the dang thing? That's me right now. I genuinely am just so happy I got this video up.

Time spent Monday: 200 minutes

What I made:

-3/4 Tik Toks (30 minutes)

-1 blogs (30 minutes)

-1 posts for my poetry page (10 minutes)

-1 LinkedIn posts (25 minutes)

-YouTube video (80 minutes)

-Instagram posts and stories (10 minutes)

-Additional emails and posting on different pages (5 minutes)

-SEO training (10 minutes)

Struggles and what went well

Have you ever flown transatlantic before?

Well I can tell you the day after is no fun. If a person could turn into a rock that’s what I would’ve turned into yesterday.

I worked a lot but my energy dipped a lot, but I’m so proud I got that YouTube video up. I’m going to be better for this, don’t you think so?

Key takeaway of the day:

  • The magic is in the work you’re avoiding, so remember to do what scares you

If you're enjoying this content challenge sign up to my emails to make sure you don't miss a post! You don't wanna miss what happens next because I have little fear of social rejection and the personality of an outgoing American Dad 😂.
